World Environment Day Celebration on 5th June, 2023
Residential Capacity Building Workshop on Climate Change and Gender: - Jeevika's staff were part of a Residential Capacity Building Workshop on CLIMATE CHANGE AND GENDER on 13-14 March 2023, at Siliguri. The workshop was conducted by Mr. Anshuman Das (Program Manager - Agriculture & Environment, Economic Development, Welthungerhilfe India).
Sustainable Agriculture and Traditional Seed Festival 2023 - was organised by Jeevika On 2nd feb 2023, at Bagakhali, Bishnupur II, South 24 pgs. 500 farmers also govt. agri dept officials, local govt representatives, resource persons were atteneded in the event
CAMPAIGN PROGRAM THROUGH RALLY ON CHILD MARRIAGE PREVENTION: - Jeevika, as a part of its Project named 'Cholo Paltai' under Campaign Incubator 2022 by HAIYYA, organized Rallies on Child Marriage Prevention in Bishnupur - II Block of South 24-Parganas district on 24th December 2022, from Khagramuri Sibtala via Jorapole; up till Molongodar and on 30th December 2022 from Kalinagar via Akulshe Paschim & Majher Para; up till Akulshe Purbo Para. About 150 women and adolescent children were part of this rally; they voiced their opinions against child marriage and towards spreading awareness regarding the same in society.
BLOOD DONATION CAMP - 17th December 2022: Jeevika Development Society and Swayam Sampurna jointly organized a Blood Donation camp with M R Bangur Hospital Blood Centre on 17th December 2022 at its Swayam Sampurna Office at Vivek Villa Joka, about 60 individuals donated blood their blood, majority of these donors were women. During the course of this program, Sri. Dilip Mondal (Minister of State, Ministry of Transport West Bengal), Smt. Shefali Pramanik (KMC Ward No. 144- Councillor), Sri. Biswajit Roy (DCP, South Sub-Urban Division), Sri. Rajesh Kumar Singh (OC Thakurpukur PS) were present as Chief Guests.
International Child Rights Day Celebration
Jeevika Development Society organized a rally with about 100 children on the occasion of Child Rights Day. The rally started from Khurirpole and continued up till Samali Durgatala Mandir Prangyan for about a stretch of about 4 kms. During the course of the rally, the children voiced their rights regarding equality, discrimination, education, and proper nutrition and wore specially printed T-shirts for the occasion. Post-rally, the children also participated in a program organized by Jeevika at Samali Durgatala Mandir Prangyan. The program consisted of fun activities and games like quiz, memory game, football kick, etc.
