Jeevika Development Society is a community-based NGO in West Bengal, India, committed to working towards furthering the rights of women. Jeevika was formed in 1990 and became registered under the West Bengal Societies Registration Act in 1994. Jeevika works with communities of underprivileged women in 46 villages in the district of South 24 Parganas in West Bengal, India. Jeevika believes that access and control over financial resources with the perspective of women’s rights is the key to achieving women’s empowerment.
